If you haven’t seen the webseries Future Girl, you’re in for a treat with the videos below. As described by the show’s creators, it’s “a roommate comedy with a science fiction twist. It’s a show about hanging out at home with your best friends… if your best friends were a Viking warrior and a grad student from the future.”

Future Girl’s main characters: The Viking (Heather Wood), Curie (Amy Dallen) and Em (Gina DeVivo)

The show was released in 2016 and quietly picked up a devoted fan following. I love the show because it incorporates time travel in fun ways and it’s treated as just a casual part of everyday life. Did your roommate beat you to the shower in the morning? Use time travel to occupy the bathroom a minute earlier!

The cast includes Amy Dallen as “Curie”, the time traveling grad student researcher from the future, Gina DeVivo as “Em”, the 21st century slacker, and Heather Wood as Viking, warrior from the past. While these and most other actors in the series may be new names to you, you might just recognize some of the voice talent involved – Phil Lamarr and Tom Kenny. The show was created by Rick Budd and Nick Gilman, who share the executive producer duties with Alex Klimavich and Amy Dallen. Together they have put together a low budget series that promises a treasure trove of entertainment.

Craig is the founder and creator of TimeTravelNexus.com. He first stumbled upon a time machine in Boys Life magazine in the early 1970's, and many time trips later, he has lost track of his original timeline. He spends his days with his wife and young son in the timeline he now considers "home". A chance encounter with a future self alerted him to one possible future in which he becomes a published novelist, although whether or not that is a future of his current timeline remains to be seen.
