It is my privilege to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! Christmas is my favorite time of year and there’s so much time travel! From the questions about how Santa can cross the glove in a single night to the infamous repeating a Christmas to get the guy trope to someone seeing a Christmas long past or yet to come there’s just so much there.
Here at the Nexus, we like to give you a little bit. We kicked off earlier this week with me discussing temporal theory in the Santa Clause universe. Those movies are some of my favorites and you’ll see in the article that I watched all three the day they came out on Netflix. There’s a temporal question there that still nags me a bit.
Tomorrow, we’ll be taking a look at the time distortion in my favorite Christmas movie, “The Polar Express.” After having a fun discussion about said distortion with a friend I knew this post needed to be written. I’m exited to share it with you al!
December 25 – Mary Helen Reviews “Twice Upon A Time
December 26- Tina Marie DeLucia Reviews “Twice Upon A Time:” as well as “The Feast of Steven”
December 27 – James Bojaciuk Gives A Post Mortem of Steven Moffat’s Era of Doctor Who
December 29- Sophie Iles’ Touching Tribute To Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor
January 2018 – Tine Marie DeLucia Discusses Verity Lambert
As we all know, the Doctor Who Christmas Special “Twice Upon A Time” airs on Christmas Day bringing with it the Christmas present that a lot of Whovians (for various reasons) wish they could already return. This episode also bids farewell to Peter Capaldi as The Doctor and Steven Moffat as show-runner (yes, I’m already planning my celebratory dance that I survived his era with my temper relatively intact).
To make sure you get full coverage of this Doctor Who milestone, we have a variety of posts for you over the next couple of weeks.
Christmas Night, I’ll be posting my review shortly after the episode finishes airing here in the United States. Mine approach will be more on the story as well as some of the commentary you’ve come to know from my articles.
The next Day, our own Queen of the Black and White Era Tina DeLucia will be presenting their take on the episode. With Tina being an expert on the First Doctor’s era, I’m exciting to see their take. Also on December 26th you will get to see them discuss the First Doctor Special “The Feast of Steven.”
I believe our site’s founder described it best. You’ll get the Feast of Steven and the roasting of Steven on the same day.
James Bojaciuk will follow on Wednesday, December 28th will his analysis of the Steven Moffat era of Doctor Who. James has been working on this off and on for a while and I’m excited to see the finished product.
Friday brings a new writer to the Time Travel Nexus. Sophie Iles will be bringing a touching tribute to Peter Capaldi and his Twelfth Doctor. I’ve read the initial draft of this already and it almost brought me to tears. You don’t want to miss it.
Tina will round up our coverage with a post that’s indirectly related to the Christmas Special. In the New Year, keep an eye on her post about Britain’s first female producer and Doctor Who’s first show-runner, Verity Lambert.
It promises to be a fun bit of coverage and I’m looking forward to sharing it all with you.
Once more, from all of us at The Time Travel Nexus, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
