There were a couple of interesting bits of news to break in the Arrowverse over the course of the last week and I wanted to take a second and share both with you.
The first one I noticed is especially interesting. Especially in light of an article I did a couple of months ago.
Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim suggested that the ball was in Barrowman’s court. He said this during a recent roundtable.
“We told John when we called him to tell him about the events of the finale, every single person on all the shows has come back in some shape or form. We’ve got flashbacks, we’ve got time travel, we’ve got parallel universes. Goodbye is never goodbye. He has an open invitation to return to the show any time he wants.”
Barrowman responded with a statement on his Facebook.
“I am surprised and very happy to hear Marc Guggenheim’s comments about Merlyn’s future in the Arrowverse because in a very decisive phone conversation we had with Wendy Mericle, I was led to believe that there were no plans to bring Merlyn back.”
He then went on to say that all the creative team had to do was call.

Time will tell.
The second piece I have today gives me the excuse to sing the praises of the unsung hero of “The Flash”
Tom Cavanagh is the unsung hero of that show (in fact, I said as much last week). Over the course of the three season of “The Flash” we’ve seen him play different versions of the character, Harrison Wells. And sometimes, he’s doing multiple versions in the same episode (which, if anyone on “The Flash” creative team is reading this, can we please have more of that).
He teased that perhaps, this year, we will see a different form of Harrison Wells.
What that form takes, time will tell.
Keep in mind, we get Wells from Earth 2 for at least a bit. He was trapped on Earth 1 during the season finale.
This is one thing, I can’t wait for them to explore. Even his castmates don’t know what’s coming.
Should be fun.
